Bhumibol Adulyadej

Bhumibol Adulyadej (ภูมิพลอดุลยเดช), Rama IX de Tailandia, nado en Cambridge (Estados Unidos o 5 de decembro de 1927 e finado en Bangkok o 13 de outubro de 2016, foi rei de Tailandia desde 1946 ata a súa morte. Durante os seus últimos anos de vida foi o xefe de estado de maior antigüidade, e aínda mantén o récord de ser o monarca que máis tempo reinou en Tailandia.

Atribuíuselle un papel importante na transición á democracia na década de 1990 despois de períodos anteriores durante os que apoiou réximes militares.
