Premio Samir Shamma
O Premio Samir Shamma de numismática do mundo islámico é un premio de periodicidade bianual concedido pola Royal Numismatic Society, de Londres, ao mellor libro ou artigo, preferentemente escritos en inglés, que aborden ese aspecto da numismática. As obras premiadas deben ter sido publicadas durante os tres anos anteriores á concesión do premio e o criterio para a súa escolla é o de que sexan consideradas as máis útiles para os estudosos da numismática dos países islámicos. [1]
O premio estableceuse en 1992 e toma o seu nome de Samir Shamma, membro honorífico da Royal Numismatic Society, que á súa morte deixou un importante legado para o mantemento do premio. En 2017 estaba dotado con 2.000 libras esterlinas.[1]
