Vernon Lee

Violet Paget, coñecida literariamente como Vernon Lee, nada en Boulogne-sur-Mer o 14 de outubro de 1856 e finada en Florencia o 13 de febreiro de 1935, foi unha escritora de orixe británica.

Viviu na época vitoriana, feito que se manifesta na súa escrita. O seu vínculo con Italia foi fondo, pois viviu en Florencia a maior parte da súa vida e escribiu ensaios de peso sobre a cultura renacentista. Foi amiga de importante figuras da cultura do momento, tales que Robert Browning, Walter Pater, George Bernard Shaw ou Edith Wharton.
