Pidgin ghanés
O pidgin ghanés (coñecido como Ghanaian Pidgin English ou GhaPE)[2] é unha lingua crioula baseada no inglés falada en Ghana. Tamén coñecido como pidgin, broken english ou kru english (kroo brofo en akán). GhaPE é unha variedade rexional do inglés pidgin de África Occidental.[3] Fálase especialmente na capital sur, Accra, e nas vilas dos arredores.[2] Está circunscrito a un sector máis reducido da sociedade que outros crioulos de África Occidental, e está máis estigmatizado,[2] quizais debido á importancia do twi, unha variedade do akán,[4] que funciona como lingua franca.[5] Outras linguas que se falan como lingua franca en Ghana son o inglés estándar de Ghana (SGE) e o akán.[6] GhaPE non se pode considerar crioulo xa que non ten falantes como primeira lingua.[7][8]
