Jayne Cortez, nada en Fort Huachuca (Arizona) o 10 de maio de 1934[1] e finada en Manhattan (Nova York) o 28 de decembro de 2012, foi unha poeta afroamericana, activista e artista de performance[2] e do spoken word. Foi coñecida polas súas innovacións políticas, surrealistas e dinámicas con lirismo e son visceral. A súa escritura é parte do canon do Movemento de Artes Negras.
