COME TO AN OVERNIGHT ON JUMA AND MAMORI RIVERS Neither a lifetime would be enough for perfectly knowing the Amazon region. The world’s largest natural reserve is more than 1,5 million kilometers, with exuberant Forest where variety of exotic trees gives interesting lines of its forms. The jungle is cut out by several rivers, lakes and igapós (small water channels) that rise in winter and disappear in the summer. The rainy season starts in the beginning of January, what makes clear the season is changing, but the temperature don’t change so much from it’s average of 27°. The increasing of water volume slowly goes making pleasing channels, some big, other small. The “caboclo” (native people) call this little river as “paraná”. Some of these paranás are full of small islands, where groups of herons come to have shelter in the sunset, while the “jaçanãs” (you pronounce jaçanã) and other birds fly very close to the water for fishing without any difficulty, because an infinity of fish live in the paranás, including botos, which like to follow the boats during the warmer days, as they were welcoming them.

ECOTOURISM Tourism is based in nature, the attractive in this itinerary is sailing thoughout the rivers in the Amazon. The visitor has the chance of knowing, learning and giving value to the importance of rainforest and those who live in it and at the same time are those responsible for its conservation. Ecotourism is part of the itineraries we offer in our service, such as participating in an typical boat overnight program or camping in the jungle, and make a tour though the jungle, like a trek in the jungle, piranha fishing, canoe riding, spotting alligators, for example, or other tours. Human’s interest for nature is the valorization of rich biological diversity of the humid rainforest. The tour programs can be done in hours or days, being those with a longer period the ones considered the best, for the Amazon region own feature. The programs are run out with guide’s specialized in jungle survival, a course managed by the Brazilian Army, the guides are professionals ready to show to the guest, for example, the difference between a “poisonous liana” and the other one where it’s possible to extract drinkable water.

ACCOMMODTION IN THE JUNGLE The Amazonas State was the pioneer in offering this kind of lodging. Lodges and camping are built in the jungle, on the rivers shore, or even floating on the calm water of an Amazonian lake. In a place like those the guest can feel completely integrated to the nature and in a perfect harmony with the jungle universe. They are classified according to their level of integration with environment and the comfort they offer to their guests. There are lodges with a larger structure like resorts and jungle hotels. Some of these places can accommodate from 100 to 300 guests at the same time, they also have a main hall, including restaurants witch can also serve 500 people together. Our jungle camping’s (natives’ houses) are a little more rustic, they don’t have power generation in their bedrooms, this way the guest will take the chance of knowing the light of a “lamparina” (night lamp or slap on the ear) and sleeping in hammocks covered by a mosquito-net. The daybreak comes followed by the singing of the birds and the smooth breeze which is blower before the strong sunrise. In our jungle accommodation, the visitor will have the chance of knowing the sensation of an overnight “on the Juma River” like an “Amazonian Tarzan” dividing with a few guests the adventures in the jungle. All of our tours include complete food.

RIVER TOURS If rivers are natural roads in the Amazon, nothing could be more logical than visiting the region going through these roads. For that, will find several options of plans, with regular departures, or private base, always in a good quality boat. For those with availed time, visiting the Meeting of the Waters, a phenomenon that happens right in the moment the Solimões and Negro Rivers meet and form the Amazon River, or tours in the lake, igarapés, igapós and other Amazon hydrographical accidents will make you relax and make your trip more pleasant. If time is not your problem, river cruises with overnight included, can offer you from one to them nights to take you deep in the Amazon ways, offering you jungle trekking in the primary jungle, piranha fishing and other species of fish, canoe rides, bird watching, having you in touch with the native people (the ribeirinhos), and their lifestyle, and besides that, a vision of the jungle, in the evening, when animals, hardly ever can be seen during the daylight, come out from their burrows.
