En 2002, Leigh Kuwanwisiwma propuxo un deseño de bandeira para o pobo. As conversas sobre a adopción dunha bandeira xurdiron en 1993, mais a bandeira actual só se adoptou na primavera de 2002. O deseño foi impreso no xornal tribal e fomentáronse os comentarios sobre a bandeira.
