'''Trinity''' foi o nome en código da primeira detonación dunha [[arma nuclear]] na historia, levada a cabo polo [[Exército dos Estados Unidos|Exército]] dos [[Estados Unidos]] ás 5:29 A.M. do 16 de xullo de [[1945]] como parte do [[Proxecto Manhattan]]. A proba realizouse no deserto [[Jornada del Muerto]] a uns 56 km ó sueste de [[Socorro, Novo México]], no que entón era o Campo de Tiro e Bombardeo da USAAF en Alamogordo. As únicas estruturas ali presentes orixinalmente eran a [[casa de campo McDonald]] e os seus edificios complementarios, que os científicos usaron como laboratorio para probar compoñentes de bombas. Na semana da proba houbo unhas 425 persoas presentes no lugar.
